This book is part of my collection on decision frameworks relevant to technical work.
Why it’s in my collection: Rao’s exploration of decision-making under time constraints resonated with me as someone who has worked in both political analysis and technical fields. His concept of “narrative rationality” - how we make decisions when we lack sufficient information for formal optimization - provides a framework I find useful when navigating research priorities and design choices in complex domains. The book bridges my background in political theory with my current technical interests in a way that enriches both perspectives.
A more detailed reflection on this book will be added as I continue developing this section of my site.
